What Is Changing in Saudi Arabia
The Saudi Transport General Authority (TGA) has introduced a new regulation under Decision No. 1/46/196 (dated 10/08/1446H).
Starting January 1, 2026, all last-mile shipments to Saudi Arabia must include a valid National Address. Carriers will not accept shipments that do not contain this information.
| Item | Requirement | Effective Date |
|---|---|---|
| Regulating authority | Transport General Authority (TGA) | — |
| Mandatory field | National Address (Saudi Arabia) | January 1, 2026 |
| Carrier acceptance | Shipment rejected if missing | January 1, 2026 |
:warning: Important: This is a government-mandated requirement and applies to all e-commerce shipments to Saudi Arabia.
What Is the National Address
The National Address (العنوان الوطني) is Saudi Arabia’s official standardized addressing system used by all last-mile delivery providers.
For e-commerce deliveries, the National Address is commonly provided as an 8-character alphanumeric code, for example:
RNMA7272
This code uniquely identifies the delivery location and is required before a shipment can be booked with the carrier.
How Quiqup Supports This Requirement
Quiqup allows you to create orders even if the National Address is not available yet, while ensuring shipments remain compliant with the regulation.
- Quiqdash: Allows order creation without a National Address
- WooCommerce: Supports collecting the National Address at checkout via a plugin or custom field
- Shopify: Supports collecting the National Address using the Company field at checkout
- Order handling: Orders without a National Address are placed on hold until the information is provided
- Customer outreach: Quiqup automatically contacts the customer to request their National Address
Result: You can continue accepting orders while preventing non-compliant shipments from being dispatched.
What Happens If the National Address Is Missing
If an order to Saudi Arabia is created without a National Address:
- The order is accepted: The order appears in Quiqdash as normal
- The order is placed on hold: It is not sent to the carrier or WMS
- The customer is contacted: Quiqup sends a message requesting the National Address
- Once provided: The order proceeds to booking and dispatch
Note: Orders remain on hold until the National Address is confirmed. To avoid delays, it is strongly recommended to collect this information upfront.
What You Should Do
To prevent shipment delays and reduce customer follow-ups, you should:
- Collect the National Address at checkout: Configure your Shopify or WooCommerce store
- Educate your customers: Add a short explanation near the checkout field
- Review held orders regularly: Monitor orders awaiting National Address confirmation
Best practice: Merchants who collect the National Address at checkout experience faster dispatch and fewer delivery issues.
