Why the National Address Is Required
Saudi Arabia’s Transport General Authority (TGA) has introduced a new regulation under Decision No. 1/46/196 requiring that all last-mile shipments include a valid National Address.
This requirement becomes mandatory on January 1, 2026. Shipments without a valid National Address will not be accepted by carriers.
| Requirement | What you need to provide | Example |
|---|---|---|
| National Address (Saudi Arabia) | 8-character alphanumeric code | RNMA7272 |
| Applies to | Orders shipping to Saudi Arabia (SA) | Destination country = SA |
| Effective date | Mandatory for carrier acceptance | January 1, 2026 |
:warning: Important: From January 1, 2026, orders to Saudi Arabia will not be shipped until a valid National Address is available.
What Changed in Quiqdash
When you create an order in Quiqdash and set the destination country to Saudi Arabia, you will see a new field in the receiver details:
- National Address (Saudi Arabia)
This field is recommended to fill in at order creation. If it is missing, the order can still be created, but the shipment will be held until the National Address is confirmed by the customer.
How It Works If the National Address Is Missing
If the National Address field is left empty for a Saudi Arabia order:
- Order can still be created: The order will appear in Quiqdash as normal
- Customer confirmation is requested: Your customer will receive a message asking them to provide their National Address
- Order is held: The shipment will not be booked with the carrier until the National Address is received
- Once provided: The shipment proceeds to booking and dispatch
Note: To avoid delays, you should provide the National Address at the time you create the order whenever possible.
Why This Matters for Your Shipments
Carriers in Saudi Arabia will reject shipments that do not include a valid National Address. This can cause delivery delays, additional handling, or failed shipments.
By collecting the National Address early, you reduce:
- Carrier rejections
- Delivery delays
- Failed delivery attempts
- Customer follow-ups after the order is placed
Upcoming Enhancements
We are adding automated validation and enrichment of the National Address using Saudi Post (SPL) APIs. This will help you:
- Reduce errors when customers enter the National Address
- Confirm whether a National Address is valid before booking
- Automatically fill missing address details where possible
